BSO Kindcentrum Onder de Wieken

Welcome to BSO Kindcentrum Onder de Wieken, located at Rector de Fauwestraat 26a in Meterik. We are part of ’t Horster Nest, the childcare organisation of B.V. ’t Nest Kinderopvang Horst. Our after-school care is situated in the same building as primary school Onder de Wieken, allowing children to walk to the care facility safely and directly after school. The location offers 34 places and is officially registered under number 145659707 in the National Childcare Register. After a busy school day we provide a homely environment where children aged 4 to 13 can relax and decide for themselves what they would like to do. Our qualified pedagogical staff are ready to guide the children in activities that match their interests and developmental level. We have a spacious play attic, a secure outdoor playground and we regularly use the school gym. In addition, we organise an extensive activity programme with outings and workshops during every school holiday, which is shared with parents in advance. Our approach is inspired by the Dalton philosophy: we encourage independence, personal choice and responsibility. Children are free to choose whether they want to do crafts, play football outside, read a book or simply unwind after school. We believe that children learn most by discovering and doing things themselves. Therefore, we do not offer ready-made activities, but create a programme together with the children that suits their needs. Parents can choose from before-school care (7:30 – 8:30 a.m.), after-school care (2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on school days) and holiday care (7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.). Early care from 7:00 a.m. and extended care until 6:30 p.m. are available on request. During study days and holidays the children remain at our own location, unless otherwise agreed. We work closely with the primary school, ensuring short lines of communication and a strong sense of trust.
