About this care
Welcome to In het Hart van het Hout, our child center located in the heart of the Mierlo-Hout district in Helmond. We were established through the merger of three schools: the Jorisschool, het Baken, and the st. Odulfusschool. With an enthusiastic team of professionals, we work daily on the development of children aged 4 to 13.
Our child center is like a village - a familiar and safe place where everyone knows each other and where children can discover the world. We believe in the developmental power of every child and offer equal opportunities for all. Together we learn about life in a peaceful and respectful environment.
For after-school care, we collaborate with Korein Kinderopvang. Both before and after school care takes place at one location, both inside and outside the school building. This allows children to be cared for throughout the day by a consistent team of staff. We also provide care during holidays and study days.
We use the parent app Kwieb to keep parents informed of all developments. Our core values are developing, discovering, and meeting. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Brabant-Zuidoost conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 19 January 2026 at after-school care (BSO) In het Hart van het Hout in Helmond. The location, part of Korein B.V. (Wij zijn JONG), provides care for a maximum of 22 children aged 4-12 years in a base group. The inspection demonstrated that the location meets all assessed quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate and staff and groups. No violations were identified.
