Summary

The annual Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond investigation of Hoeksteenkids, an after-school care (BSO) in Vlaardingen for children aged 9-13, shows predominantly positive results. The location provides care on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with 21 registered childcare places. All assessed quality requirements were found to be in order, including administration, pedagogical policy and practice, staff qualifications, safety and health, accommodation and parental rights. The pedagogical practice meets all requirements: staff interact with children sensitively and responsively, challenge them in their development and guide them in social interactions. A minor imperfection was identified in the calculation of pedagogical policy staff deployment, where the provider used 64 instead of 63 childcare centers. Because this resulted in more hours being calculated than strictly necessary, this has no negative consequences for quality. No violations were established and no recovery offer was made.
