Strengths
- Pleasant, relaxed atmosphere with engaged staff members who provide personal attention
- Staff members know the children well and have warm conversations
- Positive group atmosphere during activities with clear ground rules

- The organisation actively works on quality improvement with an operations manager and toy plan

- The range of play activities could be more varied and challenging for children who no longer participate in sports activities
- The layout of the corner on the stage and storage systems for play materials could be improved
- The pedagogical policy plan still needs to be supplemented regarding the policy for requesting extra childcare days
- Knowledge enhancement of the reporting code and MOA could be more structured and practice-oriented

- Children were cared for without a written agreement with the correct location (agreements referred to the old location)
- The pedagogical policy plan insufficiently described how parents and children are informed about who the mentor is
- The pedagogical policy plan contained policy for extra care in another base group, while there is only one base group
- The pedagogical policy staff member/coach did not hold an appropriate basic diploma for the position
- The safety and health policy lacked risks and measures regarding transport of children and social media
- The complaints procedure did not provide for parents to submit a complaint in writing (reference to missing 'Appendix 2')
Summary
The annual inspection of after-school care (BSO) Het Schatjes en Schoffiesparadijs in Almere was conducted on 1 June 2026. The location meets all assessed requirements following a recovery offer. There is a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere and the staff members show commitment. Four violations were identified, all of which were resolved through a recovery offer: incorrect written agreements (wrong location), missing mentor information and policy for extra childcare days in the pedagogical policy, a non-qualifying diploma held by the pedagogical policy staff member, and missing risks regarding transport and social media in the safety policy.
