Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced post-registration inspection on 15 January 2026 at after-school care (BSO) De Zuidwester in Rotterdam. The after-school care accommodates 32 children (ages 4–13) in two base groups and is located within Basisschool Het Epos. The overall picture is positive: almost all quality requirements were found to be in order, including administration, pedagogical policy, staff, safety, and accommodation. Two improvement points were identified that did not constitute violations: the mentor does not structurally discuss children's development with parents, and checklists for cleaning and refrigerator temperature are missing. No recovery offer was made. The GGD advises the municipality of Rotterdam not to take enforcement measures.
