About this care
Welcome to BSO de Wichelroede, located at Van Heeswijkstraat 1b in Udenhout. We are part of Stichting Humankind and provide after-school care for school-going children aged 4 to 13. Our location accommodates 36 children and operates with two pedagogical staff members per group of twenty children.
We provide a safe, cozy and educational environment where children discover who they are through play. After school, children can relax, play and explore with us. We offer a varied range of activities with sports and games playing an important role. Children can release their energy in our sports activities, get creative with crafts, or simply chill out after a busy school day.
Our pedagogical staff bring expertise and ensure a warm, safe atmosphere where every child quickly feels at home. We work closely with Basisschool De Wichelroede, allowing us to pick up children directly after school. During school holidays, children are welcome at our BSO for the entire day.
We believe in the power of outdoor play and regularly make use of our outdoor spaces. Additionally, we organize regular trips and excursions to broaden children's world. Summary
BSO De Wichelroede BB (upper primary) in Udenhout provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 36 children aged 6-13 years in two base groups. During the unannounced inspection on 9 September 2025, deficiencies were identified in pedagogical practice and the arrangement of the group room: the atmosphere was restless, staff were unable to provide group calm, the room appeared cluttered and lacked challenging play corners. Following a recovery offer with a 4-week deadline, a re-inspection was conducted on 20 October. This revealed that the team had implemented structural improvements: calm arrival routines, clear division of tasks, children are given more independence, and the room has been arranged with various play corners. The violations have thus been resolved. The aspects of staffing/groups and parental rights already met the requirements at the initial inspection.
