About this care
Welcome to De Wereld, our after-school care (BSO) location at Pallas Atheneplein 2 in Arnhem. We are part of SKAR (Stichting Kinderopvang Arnhem en Regio), a trusted name in childcare for 125 years. Located in the multifunctional centre De Omnibus, we work closely with three primary schools so children can come straight to our safe, familiar environment after school.
Our location can accommodate up to 72 children aged 4 to 13. We offer a wonderful natural outdoor area where children can run, explore and play. The garden is spacious and green, with plenty of shade and climbing opportunities. Inside, everything is on one level and the groups are connected, creating a warm, homely atmosphere.
Our team consists of enthusiastic, committed and highly trained pedagogical staff who give every child personal attention. We follow the child’s rhythm: if someone needs to rest after school, there is space for that. If they are full of energy, we offer challenging activities. We believe children learn best by exploring the world through play at their own pace.
De Wereld is centrally located in Arnhem-Zuid, easily accessible by public transport and close to Arnhem-Zuid railway station. Parents are always welcome for a tour and a personal introduction. We look forward to welcoming your child to our safe, stimulating world full of possibilities.Read more

Strengths
- Children are given plenty of independence and are allowed to make their own choices about activities and food
- Staff encourage children to first try to resolve conflicts themselves
- Clear safety measures such as vests on outings, code locks and closed fences
- All 13 childcare professionals and structural staff correctly registered in the persons register
- Each child has a fixed mentor as their point of contact
- Staff complete annual refresher training on reporting codes and mandatory reporting obligations
- The pedagogical policy is actively discussed in team meetings and applied in practice
