About this care
Sport and Play BSO De Keien is located on the grounds of football club Olympia at Burgemeester Malcorpslaan 5 in Hasselt. We provide after-school care for children from 8 years old up to the end of primary school age. The location has capacity for a maximum of 30 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since July 21, 2010 under number 149456864.
Our BSO is part of Stichting Kinderdagcentra Zwartewaterland (SKZ), a professional and dynamic childcare organization within the municipality of Zwartewaterland. At De Keien, sports and play are central. Children can let off steam after school on the sports field and in the changing rooms of the football club. The location offers a unique environment where children can move, play and discover new sports skills under the guidance of our pedagogical staff.

GGD IJsselland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 14 April 2026 at BSO De Keien (also known as Sport en Spel BSO) in Hasselt, part of Stichting Kinderdagcentra Zwartewaterland. The location provides care for 30 children aged 7-13 in the clubhouse of VV Olympia 28. All assessed domains comply with the Childcare Act: general terms and conditions, pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and accommodation. Notably, the previous annual inspection (28 August 2025) required a recovery offer for the obligation to report, consult, and notify; this has now been resolved. The staff-to-child ratio complies with regulations, there is a fixed base group, and each child has a mentor. The indoor space (101 m²) and outdoor space (football fields) are sufficient and appropriately furnished.
