About this care
BSO de Duizendpoot is located at Hubertusstraat 18 in Echt and is part of Stichting Kinderopvang Echt-Susteren en Maasgouw (SKEM). We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 years. Our qualified pedagogical staff pick up children from their primary schools after school hours and safely bring them to our location.
Our after-school care facility has a capacity of up to 47 children. We are open on school days from the end of the school day. Additionally, we offer before- and after-school care: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 07:30 to 08:30 (VSO) and after school hours (BSO).
We collaborate with primary schools in the immediate vicinity of Echt. Our pedagogical staff ensure safe and responsible care where children can play, relax and participate in activities. We provide a homely environment where children feel at home after a day at school.

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 5 February 2026 at after-school care (BSO) de Duizendpoot in Echt, part of Stichting Kinderopvang Echt-Susteren Maasgouw (SKEM). The location provides before-school care, after-school care, and holiday care for up to 47 children. All inspected items meet the requirements of the Childcare Act. The pedagogical policy is implemented as intended, Dutch with the Limburg regional dialect is used as the language of communication, and the safety and health policy is up to date and transparent. The premises are safe and appropriately furnished with various indoor and outdoor spaces. A combined parent committee has been established. Parents are well informed through the parent portal and website. The GGD advises the municipality not to take enforcement measures.
