BSO De Cirkel is located inside De Cirkel Primary School – a school with a Biblical foundation – at Prins Bernhardstraat 11 in Assen. Since 2012 this after-school care facility has welcomed up to 33 children aged 4 to 12. The centre is operated by Stichting Prokino Kinderopvang and follows one consistent pedagogical policy.
Because the BSO is housed in the school building itself, children do not need to move to another site in the morning or afternoon. After classes they simply walk to the familiar rooms of BSO De Cirkel, making the transition calm and secure. Opening hours are aligned with the school timetable: on regular school days from the moment classes end until 18.30, and on study days and during school holidays the BSO is open all day. The exact days and times are determined by parental demand.
The location offers all of the school’s facilities: a spacious playground with a nature garden, a games room and a large gym. These provide plenty of opportunities for exercise, play and relaxation. The qualified pedagogical staff of BSO De Cirkel are ready to offer a varied programme in which fun and personal attention are key.

Summary
GGD Drenthe conducted an unannounced annual inspection at Prokino De Cirkel BSO in Assen on 27 January 2026. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates up to 40 children aged 4 to 12, divided into two base groups in the building of primary school De Cirkel. The inspection assessed the pedagogical climate and staff and groups. All assessed quality requirements were fully met. The pedagogical practice shows strong points: staff provide emotional security through trusting relationships, stimulate personal competence through independent choices, promote social skills, and apply clear rules. The administrative requirements regarding Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG), qualifications, and pedagogical policy staff members are also in order. This is the fourth consecutive year that the location has complied with legislation and regulations without any remarks.
