About this care
BSO de Caleidoscoop is located in primary school De Caleidoscoop at Essenstraat 1 in Brunssum and is part of Stichting Humankind. We provide after-school care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our location is open Monday and Tuesday from 14:30 to 18:30 and Wednesday from 12:00 to 18:30. For care on Thursday and Friday, you can visit BSO Gasperistraat.
We are ready right after school to spend a fun afternoon together with your child. Our activities range from playing outside in our playground to crafting, football, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with friends. We offer a wide variety of activities so there's always something new to discover every day.
VSO (before-school care) is available from 7:30 AM until school starts. This is offered at BSO de Gasperistraat location. During school holidays, both locations combine at BSO Treebeek and we arrange taxi transport.

Summary

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 28 October 2025 concludes that the location meets all assessed quality requirements in the areas of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The pedagogical professionals work sensitively and responsively, offer appropriate activities, and stimulate children's social and personal development. The pedagogical policy is up to date and is being followed. All staff hold the required diplomas and declarations, and the hours allocated to the pedagogical policy staff member are correctly calculated and documented. Parents are well informed through multiple channels. The advice to the municipality is to take no enforcement measures.
