About this care
BSO Nella Della Bellamy is our small-scale after-school care located right in the heart of Amsterdam Oud-West, at Schimmelstraat 38 H. For more than five years we have offered a warm second home to a maximum of twenty children aged 4 to 12. Because we deliberately keep the group small, every child receives plenty of personal attention from our permanent team of experienced, qualified pedagogical staff.
Everything we do revolves around letting children be children. At our place they can play freely, develop, discover and, above all, enjoy themselves. We cultivate a homely atmosphere in which everyone is welcome and feels part of the family. Each day we serve a fresh, hot meal prepared on the premises; five days a week the children can count on healthy, tasty food.
Outdoor exercise and fresh air are high on our priority list, so we go outside every day. In addition, we run a fun creative workshop every week where children can explore and try new things. Parents appreciate our commitment and the warm character of our setting; comments such as “it feels like one big family” and “the staff are super sweet and involved” confirm that we succeed in our goal of providing a trusted place where children feel at home.
We are open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:30. For information or to arrange a visit, please contact us at bso@kindercentrumnelladella.nl or call 06-41999455.Read more

Summary
BSO Nella Della Bellamy at Schimmelstraat 38 H in Amsterdam provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 20 children aged 4-13. The location is temporary, having moved from Columbusplein due to school renovation works. The permanent team consists of 3 qualified staff members, supplemented by an intern and a classroom assistant. All employees hold a Certificate of Conduct (VOG), a first aid diploma, and meet the language requirement. The pedagogical policy is inspired by Reggio Emilia: children choose their own activities, with attention paid to cultural celebrations and healthy nutrition. Safety is ensured through risk assessment, monthly evaluation, domestic violence reporting protocol, and clear food safety rules. Outdoor play takes place in an adjacent public playground with a grassy field, climbing equipment, and a petting zoo. Parents are informed via the website, newsletters, and policy plan; a parent committee is not mandatory, but the provider continues to actively invite parents to share their input. There were no complaints in 2024.
