About this care
BSO Mariniershof is a welcoming after-school care centre located right in the heart of Rotterdam at Mariniershof 184. We provide out-of-school care for up to 81 children aged 4 to 12. Our team is ready every school day to greet the children as soon as classes finish. We pick them up from nearby primary schools and accompany them to our location, where a warm meal, fresh fruit and healthy drinks are waiting. During school holidays and study days we are open all day from 07:30 to 18:30 and regularly organise excursions; the cost of these trips is included in our service. We follow the KindeRdam pedagogical policy, which encourages children’s own initiative, cooperative play and discovery. Parents stay informed through the KindeRdam app. For children with allergies or special dietary needs we provide tailored solutions. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 15 July 2025. All assessed quality requirements were found to be in order: the pedagogical policy and daily practice provide emotional security, developmental challenges, and social guidance; staff are qualified and present in sufficient numbers; the premises are safely furnished and age-appropriate; and parents receive comprehensive information via the website and parent committee. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The location received a recovery offer last year for its safety and health policy; this has been completed and is now in order. The municipal executive board is advised not to take enforcement action.
