About this care
BSO+ De Sterren is a small-scale after-school care centre in northern Arnhem, located in community centre “De Nieuwe Hommel” at De Wiltstraat 6. We welcome children aged 4 to 12 from both mainstream and special primary education. Every day we go outdoors to play and explore; nature experience is at the heart of our programme. Our group never exceeds 12 children and we maintain at least one pedagogical professional for every six children. The group is vertically structured, so siblings can stay together.
We are open six days a week: after school from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays. We also offer small-scale overnight stays during weekends with familiar staff. In addition, we provide ambulatory support for children who need extra guidance to be able to participate fully in the group in the long term. This individual support can take place at the after-school care, at home or at school and is fully tailored to the needs of the child and parents.

BSO+ De Sterren in Arnhem was assessed positively during the annual inspection on 30 June 2026. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates a maximum of 16 children aged 4 to 13 years, including children from special education. The location meets all investigated quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate and staff and groups. The pedagogical practice shows strong points: staff provide emotional security, stimulate personal and social competencies, and convey values and norms in a consistent manner. Children are greeted individually, guided sensitively, and learn to resolve conflicts independently. All staff hold the correct diplomas, Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), and language certificates. No areas for improvement or violations were identified. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises no enforcement action.
