About this care
BSO De Lepelaars is located at Jachtlaan 21 in Winschoten and is part of Stichting Kinderopvang KiWi, which has been providing childcare in East Groningen since 1988. We offer after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 years in a Child Center with a beautiful Experience Garden where children can move and play.
Our location accommodates up to 30 children and is designed as a warm, homely environment where children feel at home. We pick up children from school and ensure they arrive safely with us. Upon arrival, there's always a healthy treat waiting - fresh fruit, vegetables, crackers or bread with something to drink.
The Experience Garden is a special feature of our location, where children can run, play and discover. We offer daily activities, but participation is voluntary - children choose what they want to do. For children who have homework, there's a quiet space available. We believe in child-centered working, where every child can be themselves and develop their own interests.

Summary
BSO De Lepelaars in Winschoten, part of Stichting Kinderopvang KiWi, provides after-school care (BSO) for a maximum of 30 children aged 4 to 13. The annual inspection of 23 March 2026 reveals serious shortcomings. Children from primary school De Kleine Dollard are left unsupervised on Mondays and Thursdays between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. while the staff member collects children from De Vossenburcht. This violates the staff-to-child ratio and fails to guarantee emotional safety. The pedagogical policy and safety policy lack concrete procedures for this situation. A recovery offer for the pedagogical policy and accommodation has not been fulfilled. A teacher who is structurally present is missing from the Persons Register Childcare (PRK). The accommodation does now comply following a recovery offer. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises enforcement.
