About this care
Amstel Kidz is the after-school care (BSO) of Kidz United, located at Reijgershof 4 in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 attending the Amstelschool. Together with the school and Skillz United we form the golden triangle: we provide sporty lunch-break care, Skillz United delivers movement-based learning and gym classes, and on study days we offer full-day BSO.
Our team consists of Kelvin (team leader), Lotte (pedagogical professional), Steven, Rick, Jacky (sport pedagogues) and Ralph (pedagogical professional). We work with a fixed daily rhythm, rituals and clear structure. Each group has an activity board showing the programme, present staff and the children (with their own photo). Children pin their photo next to the activity they choose, encouraging them to make choices, reflect and form opinions. We talk with the children about their views and adjust things when needed.

Summary
Kidz United – Amstel Kidz is an after-school care (BSO) in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel that only cares for children from the Amstelschool. On 11 February 2025, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection. The pedagogical climate is assessed as responsible: staff stimulate personal, social and moral development with varied activities such as cooking and outdoor play. All staff hold a valid Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag) and the required qualifications; there are sufficient professional staff present. The location operates with two fixed base groups without merging them, which increases stability. One violation was identified: the pedagogical policy plan did not fully and correctly describe the age structure, size and working method of the base groups. The organisation amended the plan immediately, thereby meeting the legal requirement. The GGD advises the municipality not to impose enforcement measures as the recovery is sufficient.
