About this care
We are KDV Broer Konijn, located in our own building at Kanaaldijk 196 in the north of Koedijk. Since 1995 we have provided small-scale, professional childcare for children aged 0 to 4. The centre has 55 places divided into four horizontal groups: a baby group (0-1 yrs, max. 9 children), a toddler group (0-2 yrs, max. 12 children) and two pre-school groups (2-3 yrs max. 14 children and 3-4 yrs max. 16 children). Everything in the group is tailored to your child’s developmental stage, from bottle-feeding and nappy changes to language development and playful school-readiness activities.
At Forte childcare we see children as builders of the future. Movement and experience are therefore central. We work with themes, activities, outings and workshops and offer a challenging outdoor space where discovery and adventure come first. Our garden has a natural look; children can run, climb or play quietly in the sandpit. We also make regular trips to the playground in Koedijk.
Our homely building is designed so that the very youngest can enjoy sensory play and the older children can retreat to quiet corners or actively play with table football and a playhouse. We use a pedagogical programme tailored to age and interest, with attention to respect for nature. Parents log in to the Konnect Parent Portal and can use our childcare from as little as one day a week, Monday to Friday 07:30-18:30.

Strengths
- The pedagogical policy plan is substantively complete and is communicated well to staff members
- Pedagogical practice demonstrates warm, supportive interactions and age-appropriate guidance
- All staff members meet training requirements, the IKK language requirement and qualifications for working with children under 1 year old
- Staff members adapt their body posture and language to the developmental level of children
Violations
- A volunteer who is structurally present (cleaning the aquarium once every two months) was not registered and linked in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang/PRK) and did not have a Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
- Staff members washed their hands after nappy changing at the kitchen tap, which was subsequently used for preparing infant feeding, contrary to the hygiene policy
- The changing mat was not cleaned after changing a wet nappy, only after a soiled nappy, contrary to policy
Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Broer Konijn in Koedijk, part of Stichting Forte Kinderopvang, was inspected on 13 July 2026 by GGD Hollands Noorden. The location provides care for 55 children aged 0-4 years in 4 core groups. Most assessed requirements were met, including pedagogical policy, pedagogical practice and staff training requirements. However, two violations were identified: a volunteer who cleans the aquarium was not registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang/PRK), and staff members did not act in accordance with the safety and health policy regarding hygiene around nappy changing and preparation of infant feeding. A recovery offer was made for the hygiene violation, after which sufficient remediation was demonstrated. The volunteer has since been registered in the PRK. The GGD advises enforcement.
