About this care
Kinderdagverblijf Het Laantje (formerly Bommes) is a small-scale daycare centre of Humankind, located in a charming, homely building at Mathenesserlaan 335 in the heart of Rotterdam West. We care for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our vertical group structure places children of different ages together, giving each child the space to develop at his or her own pace.
Flexibility is paramount: parents decide which sessions they need and, by arrangement, can swap days when necessary. For the very youngest we provide both half-day and full-day care, including bottle feeding and quiet sleeping areas. Our aim is to offer a warm and secure environment where every child feels at home.
Since 1 July 2025 we have been part of Humankind and continue under the name KDV Het Laantje. Our familiar staff remain on board so that children and parents experience the continuity they have come to expect from us.Read more

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Het Laantje in Rotterdam, part of Stichting Humankind, was inspected on 9 July 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond. The annual inspection involved an unannounced visit during which the pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health were assessed. All assessed quality requirements were found to be in order. The location provides daycare for 27 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided across two groups. The pedagogical practice meets the requirements: children are treated with sensitivity and responsiveness, are challenged in their development, and are guided in social interactions. The staff-to-child ratio, VOG registrations, safety and health policy, and domestic violence and child abuse reporting protocol also comply with the law. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. In its response, the provider indicated that it was pleased with the positive assessment.
