About this care
Welcome to Basker (formerly BLOS) daycare at C. van Maasdijkstraat 35 in the Zuilen neighbourhood of Utrecht. Every day is a new adventure! Climbing and scrambling in the outdoor area, gardening in the vegetable patch or playing in our adventurous indoor spaces – there's never a dull moment. We are part of Basker kinderopvang, a label of Babilou Family Nederland.
We are within walking distance of Julianapark, where we often go to play with the children. Our location is easily accessible by car and public transport, with a bus stop nearby and free parking. The direct connection to the Amsterdamsestraatweg provides access to all main roads.
Our groups are divided horizontally: 2 groups for 0-2 years, 2 groups for 2-4 years and 1 mixed group for 0-4 years. This way children can play and develop optimally in age-appropriate groups. Our experienced pedagogical staff create a safe, familiar environment where children discover the world step by step, at their own pace.
Special features: toilet training with 'De Pot Op' programme, movement books from Friends call me Jim for active play, a wonderful outdoor playground, sandpit, vegetable garden, nearby playground and park. A professional children's photographer and children's hairdresser also visit regularly.
Diapers (Pampers), diaper wipes, baby formula (Nutrilon 1 and 2), fresh bread daily and healthy snacks are all included. Healthy food and plenty of outdoor play are central to our approach. Summary
The annual inspection of daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Basker at C. van Maasdijkstraat in Utrecht, part of Babilou Family B.V., was conducted on 24 March 2026. The inspection focused primarily on Safety and Health and Parent Rights. Two violations were identified: insufficient monitoring of refrigerator temperatures (no working thermometers, breast milk stored at 7°C) and unsafe storage of plastic bags within reach of children. Both shortcomings were resolved through a recovery offer (issued on 25 March 2026, completed by 4 May 2026).
