Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond conducted an unannounced incidental inspection at after-school care (BSO) Beregoed in Hoek van Holland on 12 January 2026. The provider had submitted an application to increase the number of childcare places from 37 to 41. During the inspection, it emerged that there was insufficient indoor play space available for 41 places. The provider agreed to an adjustment to 40 places. The pedagogical policy, safety and health policy, and accommodation requirements were assessed. One violation was identified: the requirement of at least 3.5 m² of indoor play space per child was not met with 41 places. Through the adjustment to 40 places with 142.4 m² total space, this requirement is now satisfied. The provider has carried out a risk assessment for the new situation. The GGD advises the municipality to approve the change to 40 childcare places.
