Basker - KC Doorslag in Nieuwegein, a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf) with 32 places for children aged 0-4 years, was inspected on 16 March 2026 following a report about an incident. A child briefly went missing after unnoticedly opening a gate on the shared outdoor play area with the after-school care (BSO). The disappearance was also not reported immediately to parents and the location manager. Two shortcomings were identified and resolved through recovery offers: the safety policy was adjusted and discussed with staff, and parents and staff were informed. The location now meets all requirements. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement.
