About this care
Kindcentrum Avonturijn Wichmond is located inside primary school De Garve at Dorpsstraat 19 in the green village of Wichmond. Together with the school we have formed an Integral Child Centre (IKC) since 2014, where childcare and education flow seamlessly into each other. For children aged 0 to 4 we provide day-care (KDV) in a familiar environment where everyone knows each other.
Our KDV group is registered under LRK number 174173349 and offers places for up to 16 children. We work with fixed sessions that parents can schedule weekly: a full day from 07:30–18:00 (10½ hours) or a half-day from 07:30–12:45 or 12:45–18:00 (5¼ hours). Extended care is also possible from 07:00–07:30 and from 18:00–18:30. Extra sessions can be requested incidentally via our parent portal Konnect.
Because we are housed in the same building as primary school De Garve, children can later move on effortlessly to toddler care, the play-and-learn group or after-school care without leaving the familiar place and faces behind. Avonturijn’s pedagogical staff work closely with De Garve’s teachers, creating one continuous developmental line in a safe and recognisable pedagogical climate.

GGD Noord- en Oost-Gelderland conducted an unannounced inspection of Integraal Kindcentrum Avonturijn Wichmond on 30 October 2025. The location provides daycare (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for children aged 0-4 years and a play-and-learn group/toddler care (speelleergroep/peuteropvang) for children aged 2-4 years at primary school De Grave. The inspection assessed pedagogical climate, staff/groups, and parental rights. The pedagogical policy is clearly in place and correctly implemented; staff are qualified, registered in the PRK, and present in correct ratios. The parent committee and complaints procedure are in order. However, there is a shortcoming in the Early Childhood Education domain: the provision is only 2 half-days per week (Wed/Fri 8:30-12:30), meaning children cannot receive the mandatory 960 hours of early childhood education within 1.5 years. One staff member lacks a VVE certificate and is not undertaking any training. The provider has not received a recovery offer. The municipality is advised to enforce.
