About this care
Peuteropvang De Vlindertuin is located in the new building of Titus Brandsmaschool at Lopes Diaslaan 87 in Hilversum. We provide toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 years, on weekdays from 08:15 to 12:15. Groups are arranged horizontally, ensuring activities perfectly match your toddler’s world of experience.
Our qualified staff work closely with the primary school teachers, creating a seamless developmental pathway from toddler care to grade 1. We use the ‘In- en Opstapje’ programme to stimulate language and speech development. A speech therapist is nearby for additional support whenever needed.
Independence is key: your child learns to hang up their coat, pour their own drink and make a sandwich. The spacious group rooms are designed so every toddler can choose materials and activities independently. This builds self-confidence and gives your child a flying start to primary school.

Peuteropvang De Vlindertuin (daycare center/kinderdagverblijf/KDV) in Hilversum, part of Stichting Alberdingk Thijm Kinderopvang, was inspected unannounced on 25 March 2025 by Municipal Health Service (GGD) Gooi & Vechtstreek. The annual assessment focused on pedagogical climate, staff/groups, and accommodation. All assessed quality requirements were met: pedagogical policy and practice provide emotional safety, developmental stimulation, and clear structure; early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE) is fully established with a 960-hour offer, sufficiently qualified staff (1:8 ratio), child development tracking system, parent engagement, and warm transition to primary school; the staff register is complete, the staff-child ratio is correct (2 permanent staff members for 16 children), all employees hold VE certification or are pursuing training, and coaching hours meet the standard (100 hours in 2025); the accommodation provides 3.5 m² of indoor space per child. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. No enforcement advice to the municipality.
