We carefully screen all childminders and offer them continuous pedagogical support and training.
Subsidy & costs
ViaViela helps parents apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Childminder care (gastouderopvang) through a recognised agency such as ViaViela is formal childcare, which means parents can claim benefit from the Tax Authority. The maximum hourly rate for childminder care in 2024 for which benefit can be claimed is €7.53. Our contact persons make a personal calculation of your net costs in advance, taking into account your income, number of children and childcare hours. This way, you know exactly what your parental contribution will be after deduction of the benefit.
Childminder care (gastouderopvang) through ViaViela is on average 20% cheaper than other forms of childcare. Parents pay two components: an hourly rate to the childminder (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and a monthly agency fee to ViaViela for mediation and guidance. ViaViela applies an all-in rate with no registration fees. The agency fee depends on childcare hours, number of children and region. After deduction of childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), net costs can come to approximately €0.50 per child per hour or higher, depending on personal circumstances.
Trust & screening
ViaViela applies a careful screening and selection procedure for all childminders (gastouders). Before parents meet a childminder, we have already found and assessed them for reliability and expertise. Childminders must be registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and meet all statutory requirements, including a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). We invest in continuous training and pedagogical support for our childminders to guarantee the quality of care.
ViaViela region Klazienaveen is LRK-registered (number: 872908495) and meets all statutory quality requirements. Each location is assessed by the GGD (municipal health service) and inspection reports are publicly available. ViaViela annually receives the Dispute-Free Certificate from the Childcare Disputes Committee. All childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK) and the Childcare Persons Register. We maintain a privacy statement in accordance with GDPR guidelines and have an active parent committee that represents the interests of parents and children.

Pedagogical vision
ViaViela applies a pedagogical policy based on the four basic pedagogical objectives of Prof. J.M.A. Riksen-Walraven: providing emotional security, offering opportunities for personal competence development, offering opportunities for social competence development, and transferring values and norms. We support childminders with theoretical deepening, pedagogical newsletters, observation instruments and a telephone parenting helpline.
