About this care
2Span is a cosy daycare centre with three groups in the heart of The Hague. We welcome children from 0 to 4 years in a homely environment where every child feels seen. Our wonderful outdoor area – featuring a climbing hill, slide, sandpit and nature garden – is tucked away behind the building and offers a calm, safe oasis in the city centre. Here children can cycle, play games and explore nature to their heart’s content.
We operate a mixed-age group (0-4 years), a baby group and a toddler group. In the mixed-age group we start by following the familiar daily rhythm from home; we also provide age-specific activities. Our qualified pedagogical staff offer personal attention, warmth and expertise every day. From time to time we host cosy tea afternoons where parents, grandparents and carers are welcome – a little celebration where the children proudly show off their group and friends.

Strengths

Shortcomings
- Administrative registration of group size for Vlindertjes was incorrect (14 instead of 12 childcare places), since corrected by the operator

- One staff member in the baby group Zonnestraaltjes had been deployed structurally since 1 November 2025 without the mandatory training 'working with 0-year-olds' (Babywijs); the maximum term of three months to commence training was exceeded
Summary
The annual inspection by GGD Haaglanden on 31 March 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) 2Span in Den Haag shows a predominantly positive picture with one violation. The location provides care for a maximum of 39 children (0-4 years) in three groups. The pedagogical climate is good: children feel emotionally safe and staff actively stimulate development, for example through physical activities. Safety, health and accommodation meet the requirements. However, a violation was identified in the domain of Personnel and groups: one staff member in the baby group had been working since November 2025 without the mandatory training 'working with 0-year-olds'. The location registered the staff member for the training on 24 March 2026 and tightened internal agreements. The group size for Vlindertjes was also administratively corrected from 14 to 12 childcare places.
