About this care
Al Amana is located within the Islamic primary school Al Amana in the Kersenboogerd district of Hoorn. As part of Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland, we have been providing childcare for over 40 years to children aged 0 to 13. Our toddler group is specifically designed for children aged 2 to 4 and operates according to the school hours of the primary school.
We offer early and pre-school education (VVE) four half-days per week for children from 2.5 years old. Our toddler group is based on Islamic principles, celebrating Islamic holidays and aligning our policies accordingly. We maintain close collaboration with the kindergarten classes of the primary school; themes are coordinated and 3-year-olds regularly participate in the physical education activities of the kindergarten students.
Our toddler arrangement consists of 2 half-days per week, with parents choosing between Monday and Thursday mornings or Tuesday and Friday mornings. The annual inspection on 15 April 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Al Am ana in Hoorn shows a predominantly positive picture. The location, part of Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland, provides care for 16 toddlers aged 2 to 4 years with pre-school education through the Startblokken programme. Initially, a violation was identified in the area of safety and health policy: during outdoor play, toddlers were not sufficiently recognisable and their safety was not always safeguarded, particularly when substitute staff were deployed. Following a recovery offer, the location took immediate measures: toddlers now wear safety vests outside the group room and the policy has been amended. All assessed conditions are now being met. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises no enforcement action.
