About this care
Welcome to KION Childcare Op Weg, located at Prinses Beatrixstraat 55 in the Nijmegen district of Ooij. We provide a warm and professional childcare environment for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our location combines a daycare center, toddler group, and after-school care under one roof, allowing children to keep a familiar place as they grow.
Our pedagogical staff create a safe and stimulating environment where each child has the space to develop at their own pace. We work with small-scale groups where vertical group structure is central. This allows children of different ages to play together and learn from each other.
The location is centrally located in Ooij and offers both indoor and outdoor spaces where children can play and discover. We have our own outdoor playground that invites movement and nature experience. Inside, the space is arranged with different corners that match the developmental stage of young children.
We offer flexible childcare options, including half days, so we can respond to the different needs of parents. Our opening hours are aligned with parents' working hours and we collaborate with Primary School Op Weg for a smooth transition to primary education.

Kinderdagverblijf Op Weg in Ooij, part of KION Kinderopvang B.V., was inspected unannounced on 18 February 2026 by GGD Gelderland-Zuid. The annual inspection focused on pedagogical policy, personnel matters, safety and health, the domestic violence reporting code, and parental rights. The location with 28 childcare places meets all inspected statutory quality requirements. The staff members work in accordance with the pedagogical policy, whereby children are actively involved in activities. The safety and health measures are effective; no unacceptable risks were identified. Hygiene measures such as handwashing and the use of gloves during nappy changing are well observed. All staff members hold a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and are properly registered in the personnel register. The reporting code is adequate and staff members have been informed about it. Parents are sufficiently informed via the website and parent app. There is an active parent committee and a proper complaints procedure. No violations or points for improvement were identified. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
