About this care
Welcome to Jan en Alleman, our daycare centre on Paardenmarkt in the heart of Delft. We share the building with Ipse, an organisation for people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. As good neighbours we sometimes use each other's spaces and occasionally do things together such as singing songs or flower arranging.
At Jan en Alleman we love openness: we have many spaces with sightlines and as soon as you are able, you are free to explore the spaces. You can then play with various materials and choose for yourself whether you want to participate in activities. In the baby group it is wonderfully quiet and we do activities that help you discover your own body: looking, listening, feeling and tasting.
The bigger you get, the more you can discover: large blocks to build with, listening to a beautiful story being read aloud, crafting with paint, paper and fabric, and exploring the garden where sand, water and branches form a whole different world. Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Jan & Allem an at Paardenmarkt 83 in Delft was inspected unannounced on 26 May 2025. The annual inspection shows that the location meets all statutory quality requirements: no violations were identified and no recovery actions are needed. Pedagogical practice scores well; staff provide warm, safe interactions, encourage independence, and tailor their approach to each child's developmental stage. The group structure is well-organized (five fixed core groups for 58 children aged 0-4), staffing meets the required ratios, and all staff are properly registered with a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). The premises are spacious, safe, and well-equipped; indoor and outdoor areas are sufficiently large, and there are separate sleeping rooms for the youngest children. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement measures. The location will close in January 2026 and relocate to 'De Dappere Dodo'.
