For parents
At Gastouderbureau De Vlinder, we believe that personal attention and optimal development for your child are essential. Childminder care (gastouderopvang) offers more individual attention than a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) or after-school care (BSO), helping your child feel valued and at ease. Activities and care are precisely tailored to your child's needs. Additionally, childminder care is generally more affordable and flexible. As a parent, you are actively involved in your child's care, with at least two evaluation moments per year and daily communication about your child's progress.
Subsidy & costs
If both parents are working and/or studying, you may be eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst). Whether you qualify can be checked on the Belastingdienst website. The amount of benefit you can receive can be calculated using the Belastingdienst's calculation tool.
As of 1 January 2025, the following rates apply for new families or those switching providers:
- €50 fixed per family per month for care at the childminder's home
- €80 fixed per family per month for care by a childminder at the parents' home
This applies regardless of the number of children, childminders, or hours per month. No additional costs apply. For parents who use few hours per month (such as with after-school care/BSO), there is a flexible rate of €1.50 per hour for actual hours used, with no minimum or maximum. De Vlinder does not apply penalty clauses, so you can switch without any issues if you are not satisfied.
Trust & screening
We do everything possible to ensure the quality of care. Our childminders must meet various quality requirements set by the Childcare Act (Wet Kinderopvang), including:
- At least an MBO2 Social Care Assistant (Helpende Welzijn) qualification
- A valid paediatric first aid certificate (kinderehbo)
- A Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG) for the childminder and any adult household members
- Registration in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personen Register Kinderopvang) with ongoing screening
- Annual risk assessment at the care location
- Regular GGD inspections of both the childminder and the childminder agency

GGD Gelderland-Zuid conducted a registration inspection at Gastouderbureau De Vlinder in Moergestel on 12 January 2026. The inspection concerned a change of holder: the current natural person (Ms van de Ven, Chamber of Commerce 95374922) is being replaced by a legal entity (Gastouderbureau de Vlinder, Chamber of Commerce 98863185). The new holder will take over operations, policy documents, and the website on 1 February 2025. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) assessed registration, pedagogical policy, personnel, parental rights, and quality criteria. All examined conditions were found to be sufficient. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The GGD advises the municipal executive to include the agency in the National Childcare Register.
