Our personal guidance begins with an introductory meeting at your home, where we discuss your wishes and needs. We then search for the most suitable childminder and arrange an introduction at the childminder's home. We ensure a warm transition with a settling-in period (wenperiode) of one month, so your child can gradually get used to their new environment.
We handle all administrative matters, including support with applying for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), invoicing, and contracts. You have one dedicated point of contact and can count on quick decisions without waiting times.
Subsidy & costs
We fully support parents with applying for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Parents are entitled to benefit if both parents work or study and the childminder is registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). The benefit amount is income-dependent and determined by the Tax Authority.
On our website you will find a calculation tool to make a trial calculation of your net monthly costs. We help you fill in the required forms and provide the childminder's LRK number that is needed for the application. The benefit can be applied for via the Tax Authority's website, and we are ready to answer questions about the process.
The costs for childminder childcare at Co-Kidz consist of three parts: agency costs, childminder rate, and childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Our agency costs are €40 per month per family, regardless of the number of children. There are no registration fees and the notice period is just one month.
The childminder rate is set by the childminder themselves and usually ranges between €6 and €8 per hour per child, with an indicative rate of €7.50. We advise childminders on setting their rate. The childcare benefit is income-dependent and reduces your net costs considerably.
We work with a cashier function: parents pay the agency, and the agency pays the childminder. Through our online platform you have insight into your invoices and hours used. All payments are processed via direct debit on the 15th or 20th of each month.
Trust & screening
All childminders at Co-Kidz undergo a careful screening procedure before being registered. They must meet all legal requirements, including a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG), a valid first aid certificate, and adequate living space for childcare. In addition, we check whether childminders have the right basic pedagogical knowledge and motivation.
After registration, we continue to safeguard quality through regular inspections and home visits. Childminders are evaluated annually and must participate in risk assessments. We encourage continuous development by offering training, workshops, and peer consultation meetings. The GGD inspects the childcare locations annually in accordance with legal standards.
