About this care
De Boerderij Daycare is located in a listed 1874 farmhouse at Bloemendaalseweg 46 in Gouda. Once a working farm, the building now provides a warm, rural setting for children aged 6 weeks to 4 years. The centre is operated by Stichting Kindercentrum De Schaapskooi.
We run three groups: a horizontal baby group (0-2 yrs, max 9 children), a horizontal toddler group (2-4 yrs, max 14 children) and a vertical group (0-4 yrs, max 12 children). This mix allows us to offer both age-specific activities and close, family-style relationships. Our programme includes VVE (pre-school education) to foster language, numeracy and social skills.
Surrounding meadows with grazing cattle give children daily contact with animals and nature. A covered hay-barn canopy lets them play outside in all weather. The large outdoor area invites running, exploring and cooperative play in the fresh air.

- Emergency plan insufficiently concrete for evacuating group 4 (0-2 years) on first floor: no description of how children are carried or guided, no task allocation or escape routes worked out
- Bottleneck from evacuation drill 3 July 2025 not followed up: cot without wheels impedes rapid evacuation, no concrete alternative for evacuating non-self-reliant children
Summary
The annual inspection by Municipal Health Service (GGD) Hollands Midden of daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Boerderij in Gouda, conducted on 24 February 2026, shows a predominantly positive picture. The location meets the quality requirements for pedagogical climate and staff and groups. Four shortcomings were identified in the area of safety and health, for which a recovery offer was issued. The holder has recovered all shortcomings within the set deadline, meaning this component now also complies. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement.
