Summary

On 8 May 2024, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an investigation into the application for childminder/host parent care (gastouderopvang) Dantzig in Amsterdam. The childminder/host parent wishes to care for twins aged 8 months on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the parents' home. The investigation consisted of a visit to the location and an interview with the childminder/host parent. The pedagogical practice was assessed based on the interview, as no childcare was yet taking place. The childminder/host parent demonstrated good knowledge of the pedagogical policy, works child-led and pays attention to language development, social skills and emotional security. The accommodation meets the requirements: the spaces are safe and appropriately furnished, smoke detectors are present and the home is non-smoking. The garden is not in use due to renovation works, but the childminder/host parent takes the children for daily walks. The risk assessment was recently completed and the emergency back-up arrangement is adequate. No violations or areas for improvement were identified.
