Summary
GGD Amsterdam conducted an investigation on 26 June 2025 into the application for childminder/host parent care (gastouderopvang) of Oudenaren de la Rie at the Albrecht Dürerstraat in Amsterdam. The childminder/host parent wishes to provide care on Tuesdays and Fridays for 3 children (2 babies and 1 five-year-old) in the home of the requesting parent, with an application for 5 childcare places to be able to host friends. The childminder/host parent has extensive experience, a clear pedagogical vision and meets all formal requirements: Childcare/Youth Care diploma, valid first aid certificate, registration in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister kinderopvang) and a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). The accommodation is safe and appropriately furnished. There was one safety concern: the babies would sleep in a hammock in the afternoons, which increases the risk of sudden infant death and does not comply with the risk assessment. This has been discussed with the childminder/host parent and requesting parent; there is sufficient time to acquire suitable beds before the start date of 1 August 2025. No violations were identified that would lead to enforcement action.
