About this care
Welcome to Calimero Kidz at Meeden 1 in Winsum, a small-scale daycare center registered in the National Childcare Register since April 1, 2024. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our goal is to create a second home where children feel safe and secure, surrounded by love and personal attention.
At Calimero Kidz, we believe in the power of small groups. Due to our limited size, our pedagogical staff can fully focus on the individual needs of each child. We offer a homely atmosphere where children can be themselves and develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively through play.
Our location at Meeden 1 is situated in the heart of Winsum, in the municipality of Het Hogeland. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. As a parent, you can apply for childcare allowance for care at our location, as we meet all national quality requirements and are supervised by the GGD Groningen.

Summary
The daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Calimero Kidz in Winsum was inspected by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) on 8 May 2025 as part of its annual review. The location comfortably meets most quality requirements: the pedagogical approach is warm and responsive, the spaces are spacious and safe, the safety and health policy is in order, and parents are well informed. However, there are two areas for improvement: not all required individuals (residents of the adjacent care center) hold a current Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag/VOG), and no pedagogical policy staff member/coach is currently in place; a new staff member has been hired for this role starting 1 July 2025. No serious violations were identified. The GGD advises the municipality to enforce in accordance with policy.
