About this care
Welcome to Kinderwoud Oude/Nieuwehorne, our welcoming after-school care centre located at Schoterlandseweg 103 in Nieuwehorne. We provide care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 13 years. Our BSO is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 178496005.
Children can join us for both before-school care (VSO) and after-school care. We pick up children from nearby primary schools and ensure they end their day in a safe and friendly environment. Our qualified pedagogical staff create a warm, home-like atmosphere where every child feels welcome.
We follow Kinderwoud’s vision: children are given space to explore, play and develop at their own pace. Our activities are tailored to the children’s world of experience and range from creative craft projects to outdoor play in our own garden or on the school playground.

Kinderwoud Oude/Nieuwehorne is a new after-school care location (buitenschoolse opvang/BSO) in Nieuwehorne with 22 places for children aged 4–12, located in primary school Sevenaer. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspected the location on 26 May 2025 for registration in the National Childcare Register. The report concludes that the childcare location will reasonably meet all legal quality requirements. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The accommodation offers ample indoor and outdoor play space, the safety and health policy is in order, and all required documents, including the pedagogical policy plan, complaints procedure, and domestic violence reporting code, are present. The languages of instruction are Dutch and Frisian. The provider has not yet submitted their Chamber of Commerce (KvK) branch number but will do so immediately upon receipt. No recovery offer is needed. The GGD advises the municipality of Heerenveen to register the BSO, after which the after-school care can begin operations.
