About this care
We are Kindcentrum De Kiezel, located at Mgr. Zwijsenstraat 85 in Best. As part of Korein, we provide after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13. Our BSO is divided into two age groups: one for children aged 4 to 7 and another for children aged 7 to 13. This allows children to spend their after-school time on activities that match their world of experience.
At our BSO, after-school time is truly free time. We believe it's important that children can relax and do what they feel like doing. Our pedagogical staff provide a safe and homely environment where every child can be themselves. We work closely with the primary school located in the same building, ensuring a smooth transition from school to after-school care.
On Wednesdays and Fridays during regular school weeks, BSO takes place at our other location on Secretaris L. Jansenstraat. During school holidays, we remain at Mgr. Zwijsenstraat. We are open Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM. For before-school care (VSO), we are open on weekdays from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.

Summary
GGD Brabant-Zuidoost conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 6 April 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Kindcentrum De Kiezel in Best. The location provides care for 46 children aged 4 to 12 years and is part of Wij zijn JONG (formerly Korein). All assessed quality requirements in the domains of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and safety and health comply with the Childcare Act. The pedagogical practice scores well: staff know children personally, contact is warm, and the four basic objectives of Riksen-Walraven are evident. The team is working on refining the daily activity provision through the 'boost je BSO' project. The safety and health policy is complete; however, it was observed that some staff have more difficulty locating the policy than others. The location manager has committed to paying extra attention to this. There are no violations or recovery offers. The advice to the municipal executive is: no enforcement action.
