About this care
BSO De Waaghals is a challenging after-school care facility located in the center of Oegstgeest. We are housed in a former bank building at Lijtweg 15, where we have created an adventurous space for up to 72 children. Our location features a unique 8+ creative space called Kunst & Kolder, where children can participate in workshops every Wednesday afternoon. Here they create cool wristbands from old ties, dream catchers, mosaic trays, and decorated tennis balls.
We have a large kitchen where children can cook and bake, and a real book cave where they can relax and read. The former bank vault has been transformed into a music room where children can play guitar and drums. Outside, we have a green adventurous playground with wild greenery, where we work together with the children and a gardener to create gardens at the back of the property.
During holidays, we take the children to our Cabin on recreational island Koudenhoorn in Warmond. We also offer a transportation service: if your child has a sports training or hobby in Oegstgeest on an after-school care day, we provide free transportation with our own SKO bus. Summary
Kindercentrum de Waaghals in Oegstgeest provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 72 children aged 8 to 12. During the annual inspection on 10 September 2025, the location was found to meet statutory requirements in all examined areas (pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health). One recovery offer was issued because not all staff members were sufficiently familiar with the mandatory reporting, consultation and filing obligations in cases of suspected child abuse. The organisation submitted a recovery plan during the investigation that was approved, thereby also bringing this requirement into compliance. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to take enforcement measures.
