About this care
Welcome to Agrarisch Kinderdagverblijf Betsie Boe, where children naturally have space to grow! At our farm, we provide small-scale daycare for children aged 0-4 years, surrounded by peace, space, nature and animals.
Our children experience nature through play: feeding calves together, collecting eggs, picking tomatoes, planting seeds in the vegetable garden, and playing extensively outdoors. Getting dirty is allowed! Overalls and boots are ready and waiting.
Betsie Boe is located on the 'De Rottein' farm, where the Van den Broek family has lived and worked for four generations (since 1930). Formerly a mixed farm with pigs, chickens, cows and horses, it has since specialized into a dairy farm. Since 2014, we have expanded our business to include childcare on the farm.
With us, it feels like coming home. We offer a safe and stimulating place where children can fully enjoy themselves and develop in a playful way. Our pedagogical staff each contribute to the individual development of every child. The children always come home with new stories and crafts from their adventures with us on the farm.Read more
GGD Inspection
Improvements needed
Inspection date: January 14, 2026
Strengths
- Good pedagogical climate with attention to children's emotional safety and development
- All staff members correctly registered with appropriate qualifications, Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and language certificates
- Strong stability through fixed core groups and clear staffing allocation
- Safe agricultural environment with animals and nature as learning environment
- Adequate safety and health policy including backup staffing arrangement and first-aid-qualified employees
Shortcomings
- Improved structure of the safety and health policy: measures and procedures regarding transgressive behaviour should be grouped together more clearly
Summary
The annual inspection of 14 January 2026 of Agrarisch Kinderdagverblijf Betsie Boe in Waalre presents a positive picture. The small-scale agricultural childcare location, situated on farm 'De Rottein', meets all inspected quality requirements. The daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) accommodates 48 children divided across three groups (Koetjes, Kalfjes and Pinken) and is characterised by a green, natural environment. All nine staff members hold the appropriate qualifications, Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and language certificates. The pedagogical climate is good, with attention to children's emotional safety and development. The safety and health policy initially showed some lack of clarity regarding measures against transgressive behaviour, but this was clarified following telephone consultation on 28 January 2026 without a recovery offer being necessary.
