About this care
Vriendjeskring is a small-scale after-school care facility located at Kerkhoflaan 51A in Rotterdam. We provide care for up to 12 children aged 4 to 12. Our aim is to offer a second home where every child feels safe and comfortable. We work with fixed pedagogical staff, ensuring familiar faces every day. A warm meal with fresh vegetables is served daily. The facility is open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including during school holidays and study days. Summary
BSO Vriendjeskring at Kerkhoflaan 51A in Rotterdam was inspected unannounced on 3 September 2025. During the conversation, it emerged that the location had stopped caring for children as of 1 September 2025; all parents had transferred to another operator. This change had not been reported to the municipality and no written parent contracts remained on file for the location. As such, childcare has effectively ceased and two statutory obligations have been violated: timely notification of changes and maintaining written agreements. No children are present, so there are no immediate risks to children. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality to enforce and remove the location from the National Childcare Register until a formal operator transfer has been completed.
