GGD Twente conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 9 June 2026 at peuteropvang Haambengels in Almelo. The location provides care for 16 children aged 2 to 4 years in a former rectory. On all assessed domains – pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights – the provider meets the statutory requirements. No areas for improvement or violations were identified. The pedagogical practice scores well: staff demonstrate respectful, sensitive, and responsive behaviour, provide structure and a safe environment, and stimulate children's development with appropriate provision. Staffing levels, Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) verifications, domestic violence reporting code, and complaint handling are also in order.
