About this care

AI
Welcome to Partou BSO Huntum 16, located in the new building of elementary school De Rozemarn in the Bijlmer area. We provide after-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our location features two playgrounds where children can play to their heart's content, and we regularly visit the nearby Bijlmerpark for soccer and tag games. Our pedagogical staff are ready every school day to pick up children from De Rozemarn elementary school (in the same building) and Achtsprong elementary school (across the street). We maintain close cooperation with these schools to ensure a smooth transition from school to after-school care. At our location, children choose how they want to spend their afternoon. Whether they prefer playing outside, reading a book in our quiet corner, crafting in the creative space, or participating in cooking activities - there's something for everyone. We organize at least one activity each day, using our six pedagogical building blocks to let children grow and gain new experiences in a playful way. Our location manager Charmaine Nooitmeer and her team ensure a homely atmosphere where your child feels safe and at home. Through our app, we keep you informed of all the adventures your child experiences with us.

Strengths

  • All staff hold a Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and appropriate diploma
  • Sufficient supervisors present according to standard
  • First aid certificate always on site

  • After recovery: children are given space for conversations, own choices and social skills

Violations

  • Pedagogical policy insufficiently implemented during mealtimes and transition periods; children must sit still for long periods without talking and have little autonomy

Summary

Partou BSO Huntum 16 is an after-school care (BSO) in Amsterdam that received an unannounced annual inspection on 16 January 2025. The pedagogical policy was insufficiently implemented during the first visit: children had to sit quietly at the table for 1.5 hours without talking, were given little room for their own choices, and there was little interaction with staff. As a result, emotional safety was lacking and social and personal skills were insufficiently stimulated. The organisation was given a recovery offer (herstelaanbod) and took measures: extra coaching, training, action plan and weekly presence of the location manager. At a second visit on 12 February 2025, the inspection saw improvement: children can talk at the table, receive appropriate attention, and are allowed to practise independent and socially skilled behaviour. The violations have therefore been lifted. Staff are qualified, hold VOGs, and the number of supervisors is sufficient. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to impose enforcement measures.
