The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced incidental inspection on 4 June 2026 at gastouderopvang Dekker in Haelen, after the municipality of Leudal imposed a temporary operating ban of eight weeks on 28 May 2026. There were indications that children were being cared for despite the ban. The inspection, carried out between 15:00 and 15:30, confirmed this: three children from different families were being cared for in a structured, organised arrangement from early morning until the end of working hours. Although the childminder and parents claim that the care is voluntary and unpaid, the GGD concludes that this constitutes commercial childcare within the meaning of the Childcare Act. The care is in fact an unchanged continuation of the closed facility. This means that the operating ban is being violated.
