About this childminding agency
Childminder agency (gastouderbureau) ViaViela is the largest childminder agency in the Netherlands with 40 locations spread across the entire country. Since its founding in 2005, ViaViela childminders (gastouders) have cared for more than 225,000 children. As a specialist in childminder care (gastouderopvang), ViaViela offers parents personal mediation and matching with qualified childminders (gastouders) in their own region. The agency works with careful screening and selection of childminders (gastouders), provides pedagogical support, and guarantees quality through regular visits and municipal health service (GGD) inspections. ViaViela uses an all-in rate for mediation and guidance without registration fees, and parents can claim childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).

For parents
ViaViela offers parents small-scale childminder (gastouder) care in a homely environment. With 40 locations throughout the Netherlands, there is always a dedicated contact person nearby who will personally guide you in finding a suitable childminder. The agency carries out careful screening of all childminders and provides ongoing pedagogical support. ViaViela uses transparent all-in rates with no hidden costs, and you may be eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).
Subsidy & costs
Childminder (gastouder) care through ViaViela is formal care, which means parents may be eligible for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) from the Tax and Customs Administration. To qualify, you must use an approved childminder through an LRK-registered childminder agency. ViaViela helps parents calculate the net care costs after deduction of the benefit. The agency offers a calculation tool on the website and contact persons can provide a personalised calculation.
At ViaViela you pay two components: an hourly rate to the childminder (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and a monthly all-in fee to the agency for placement and guidance. The agency fee depends on care hours, number of children and region, and there are no registration costs. Childminder care is on average 20% cheaper than other forms of childcare. After deduction of childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag), the net costs can work out at approximately €0.50 per child per hour or more, depending on your personal situation.
Trust & screening
ViaViela carries out careful screening and selection of all childminders before they are introduced to parents. Childminders must hold all required diplomas and are assessed for their suitability. The agency checks that the care location is safe and healthy and complies with all safety and hygiene regulations. After placement, childminders remain under supervision with regular visits and continuous professional development.
ViaViela and all affiliated childminders are registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK). The agency is inspected annually by the Municipal Health Service (GGD), and childminders receive a GGD inspection every two years. ViaViela also conducts regular visits to check that care locations comply with all safety and hygiene regulations. All childminders hold the required diplomas and undertake continuous professional development. The agency has an internal complaints procedure in accordance with the Childcare Act.

ViaViela stands for personal guidance and invests in the training and development of childminders.
Pedagogical vision
ViaViela works according to the four basic pedagogical objectives of Prof. J.M.A. Riksen Walraven: providing emotional security, offering opportunities to develop personal competence, offering opportunities to develop social competence, and passing on values and norms.
