About this care
Welcome to BSO MikMak, our small-scale after-school care centre in Deil. We are located inside the R.Lokhorstschool at Ringelesteinstraat 2, a familiar place where children can unwind after school and enjoy new adventures.
Our pedagogical staff lovingly welcome the children each afternoon. Together we pick activities from the Doenkids database, ensuring every day brings something fun. Children can also choose free play or head outside for a game of football on the adjacent playground. When the school organises talent afternoons, our BSO joins in seamlessly, allowing every child to discover and develop their talents naturally.
During school holidays and study days we run special themed programmes packed with creative and sporty activities. We often go out—to the forest, the playground, or cook together in a central kitchen. Every holiday becomes a celebration.
We operate one group with a maximum of 20 children. This keeps things personal: we know each other well and there is always time for individual attention. Children from R.Lokhorstschool and from other nearby schools are equally welcome.
We are open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 18:00. We believe children should feel safe and seen. That is why we keep communication lines short, encourage child participation and offer a broad range of activities. Summary
Fantaziehuis MikMak BSO in Deil provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 20 children aged 4–12 in a classroom at De Lokhorst primary school. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 24 March 2025. Following a recovery offer, the location now complies with all legal requirements. Strengths: staff hold valid Certificates of Conduct (VOG), the domestic violence reporting protocol is complete and well-known, parents are well-informed via the website and app, and there is a complaints procedure and affiliation with the Childcare Disputes Committee. Areas for improvement: during mealtimes there was limited interaction between a temporary staff member and the children; the location manager will incorporate this into guidance. Violations: on the inspection date, bags, sharp knives, and cleaning supplies were within reach of children, a refrigerator thermometer was missing, and the independent outdoor play form improperly shifted legal responsibility to parents. The organisation submitted a revised safety plan, new outdoor play form, and proof of team discussion within the recovery period; all shortcomings have thereby been resolved. The municipality of West Betuwe was advised not to take enforcement measures.
