Drakepit offers parents more than just a childcare place — we offer a second home for your child where they can grow up in warmth and security. As a childminder agency (gastouderbureau), we are a reliable partner in the upbringing of your children. We connect you with suitable childminders (gastouders) and guarantee the quality of care. Parents have access to our training activities and, with sufficient interest, we also offer a facilitated peer supervision group for parents.
Subsidy & costs
Daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years: parents pay a fixed administration fee of €40.00 per month (regardless of number of children or days). In addition, as of 1 January 2025, parents pay a variable amount of €0.33 per child per hour. No registration fees are charged.
After-school care (BSO) for children from 4 years: parents pay €20.00 per month if no more than 10 hours per week per child of BSO is provided, or €40.00 per month if more than 10 hours per week per child of BSO is provided. In both cases, parents pay €0.33 per child per hour and no registration fees are charged.
Trust & screening
All Drakepit childminders (gastouders) are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK) and are supervised by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). Drakepit checks compliance with the pedagogical policy plan in practice with at least two home visits per year. During these visits, safety and quality are also assessed. We guide beginning childminders (gastouders) in setting up their childcare practice and shaping their independent entrepreneurship.
Drakepit is a registered childminder agency (gastouderbureau) with registration number 676774076 and is supervised by the Municipal Health Service (GGD). We are affiliated with the Branchevereniging Kinderopvang (Childcare Sector Association) and apply the General Terms and Conditions for Childminder Care. Drakepit has a parent committee and is affiliated with the Geschillencommissie Kinderopvang en Peuterspeelzalen (Childcare and Playgroup Disputes Committee) and the Klachtenloket Kinderopvang (Childcare Complaints Office). Pedagogical vision
Drakepit works from an anthroposophical view of humanity and the world inspired by Rudolf Steiner, in which the development of individual identity within a social context is central. Our pedagogical vision emphasizes that children need others in order to become adults with free will. We consciously choose small-scale settings and a homely atmosphere, because large-scale care can hinder relationship-building due to complex organisational requirements. Children participate in the daily family life with childminders (gastouders), which is essential for natural development.
