About this care
Kindcentrum Rehoboth is located at Wilhelminalaan 4A in Valthermond and is part of Stichting CKC Drenthe Kinderopvang. This location provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12. The facility is housed in a spacious child centre with an indoor play area of 73 m² and an adjacent outdoor area that can accommodate 20 children. Both spaces are safe, accessible and appropriately designed for the target group.
Our pedagogical approach is outlined in a clear and annually reviewed policy plan. Each child is assigned a dedicated mentor who serves as the primary contact for parents and children regarding development and well-being. The base groups are horizontally structured, meaning children remain in one consistent group with a maximum size in line with legal standards.
Care begins immediately after school and takes place both inside and outside the school building. During school holidays and study days, care continues to be available for parents who have a corresponding contract. The location works closely with CKC Rehoboth primary school, ensuring a smooth transition from school to after-school care within a familiar environment.

During the annual inspection visit on 27 October 2025, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) identified one violation: the pedagogical policy plan lacked sufficiently concrete descriptions regarding group composition, staffing allocation, and application of the three-hour rule. The location received a recovery offer, began working on it immediately, and submitted a revised plan within the deadline. Upon re-evaluation, the policy now meets all requirements. No deficiencies were found regarding staff and groups: all staff members hold valid diplomas, Certificates of Conduct (VOGs), and are correctly registered; the deployment of the pedagogical policy staff member is sufficient. The pedagogical practice appears positive: children experience emotional safety, are given space for their own choices, and are respectfully guided in play and interaction. The municipality was advised not to take enforcement action.
