About this care
Welcome to our Christian after-school care (BSO) located at Dassenburcht 9 in Hoevelaken. We provide after-school care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12. Our bright, spacious building offers different corners where children can play, relax or do homework.
The adventure really starts after school. We always begin together around the table with something nice to eat and drink. While enjoying our snack, we share the experiences of the day. What was fun? What was disappointing? This is how we get to know each other better.
Then each child chooses what he or she wants to do. One time we exercise, run and cycle outside. Another time you look for peace and quiet and read a book or finish your homework. We offer a wide range of fun activities and games. Every month we announce in advance which activities are on the programme, but your own ideas are always welcome. What are you already looking forward to?
Our pedagogical staff guide the children with sincere attention and from a Christian conviction. We read aloud from picture books and from the children's Bible, sing Christian songs and say grace before meals. All children are welcome, regardless of their background. Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an annual inspection on 15 December 2025 at after-school care (BSO) BijdeHandjes in Hoevelaken. The after-school care, located in a former school building next to the Willem Farelschool, offers places for up to 22 children aged 4 to 13. The inspection assessed the pedagogical climate and staff and groups. Both areas met all statutory requirements. The pedagogical practice showed strong points: staff create emotional safety by tuning in to children, stimulate personal competencies through varied activities, promote social competencies through targeted group play activities, and convey values and norms through clear agreements. Staffing was also fully in order: all staff hold the correct diplomas, Certificates of Conduct (VOG), and meet language requirements, and the pedagogical policy staff member is deployed sufficiently for coaching. This is the fourth consecutive year that the location has been assessed without violations. The GGD advises the municipality of Nijkerk not to take enforcement measures.
