About this care
BSO Stek is located in two classrooms of primary school De Stek at Torenmuur 1 in Houten. We provide after-school care for children aged 4 to 12. The atmosphere is warm and homely. The spaces are arranged so that children can choose what they want to do. There is a doll corner, a car corner, a chill corner for reading and a place where you can enjoy crafting. Outside there is a large grass field where children can play sports.
We work with Doenkids to organize fun sports activities on the school playground, such as football, hockey or dodgeball. Inside, children can do crafts, cook or act. Occasionally an external expert gives a workshop. BSO Stek in Houten is a new after-school care (BSO) facility (22 places) that has been providing care two afternoons per week at primary school De Stek since 6 January 2025. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 23 January 2025 concludes that the location meets the statutory requirements on all assessed points. The pedagogical practice appears positive: staff communicate respectfully, show warm interest, and tailor activities to the child. The safety and health policy is in order, employees are properly registered and qualified, and the spaces are safe and richly equipped with open-ended materials. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality is advised not to initiate enforcement action.
