About this care
Basker (formerly BLOS) Uiterwaardenstraat is a daycare center located at Uiterwaardenstraat 87 in the Rivierenbuurt neighborhood of Amsterdam, close to the Amstel river. Our small-scale daycare center has recently been completely renovated and has a warm, homely atmosphere. We care for children aged 0 to 4 years in small groups, allowing us to give each child plenty of individual attention. The group rooms are fully equipped according to the children's ages, and we work with sustainable wooden play materials that stimulate development. We have a garden with a playhouse, slide, and sandbox, and regularly go on outings to nearby parks such as Martin Luther Kingpark. Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspected the daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Basker on Uiterwaardenstraat in Amsterdam on 2 March 2026. This follow-up investigation was conducted after an enforcement trajectory due to previously identified violations regarding safe sleeping and the indoor climate in the bedrooms. The location has since taken measures: heating in bedrooms switched off, policy tightened, staff instructed, and an action plan drawn up. During the visit, the temperature in the toddler group met the target value (19.8°C), but in the baby group was slightly too high (20.7°C). Staff act in accordance with protocol and take immediate action in case of deviations. The previously identified violation has been resolved.
