About this care
Day-care centre Achthoek De is located on the ground floor of the Achthoek Child Centre at Houtse Heuvel 3 in the centre of Den Hout. As part of Stichting Delta we provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. Our horizontal group structure means that babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers play and sleep in separate age groups, ensuring that each developmental stage receives the right attention.
We follow an officially recognised Early Childhood Education programme that stimulates young children’s language and cognitive development. Every day we offer structured activities that connect with the child’s world: singing, reading aloud, exploring the nature garden and playing with age-appropriate materials. Our pedagogical staff carefully observe and record each child’s development and tailor activities accordingly.
The youngest children have their own sleeping rooms with cots; older toddlers rest on comfortable stretchers. Outside we have a safe, green playground where children can run around, build sandcastles and discover nature. Parents receive a daily report via our Parent App with photos and a short description of their child’s experiences.

Kindercentrum De Achthoek in Den Hout, part of Stichting Delta-Onderwijs, provides daycare with Early Childhood Education (Voorschoolse Educatie) for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. At the annual inspection on 26 March 2026, the location met the requirements for staff and groups. Regarding pedagogical climate, there was initially a shortcoming: the pedagogical policy plan lacked a description of the continuous developmental line and transition to after-school care (BSO). Following a recovery offer, the operator amended the policy, which now meets the requirements. The pedagogical practice, early childhood education, and deployment of the pedagogical policy staff member met requirements immediately. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Oosterhout not to apply enforcement.
